Which one fits your team
Both are agent platforms for people who are not engineers. The right one depends on how much you want to configure.
Choose Gumloop when
- You want to set up agents with their own model, instructions, connectors and skills, and reach them in Slack, Microsoft Teams, email or text message. Its documentation also suggests asking an agent to write its own instructions after a good task.
- You want unlimited seats on every plan and a view of credit use by model across the company.
- You want agents that work in a real browser on any site, with or without an API, which its pages describe.
Choose TobyBot when
- You want the plan in front of you before work starts, with each step as a card and its tools, then every tool call and result as it runs, with a pause.
- You prefer plan limits in actions, triggers and AI credits to a bill built from model tokens, tool calls and compute time.
- You want TobyBot cloud or self-hosting on the Enterprise plan, and agents built into your own product through the API, a chat widget or the SDK.
Gumloop pricing and what TobyBot costs
TobyBot publishes its plans. Here is what you get, then how Gumloop shows its pricing today.
TobyBot
- Pro $59 a month, 2 users
- Team $299 a month, 10 users
- Enterprise Contact us. TobyBot cloud or self-hosted.
How Gumloop prices
Its pricing page shows Pro from $37 a month, with unlimited bots, unlimited seats and 20,000 credits a month, and Enterprise on custom pricing. It offers a 14-day trial of Pro. On public price Gumloop Pro is lower than TobyBot Pro at $59 a month, and it has no charge for each seat.
Its pricing page values a credit at $0.005. Each agent run bills the list cost of model tokens, compute and paid tool calls, plus an orchestration fee of eight per cent. Its pricing FAQ says that bringing your own model key raises the fee to sixteen per cent and removes the credits that would have paid for tokens. Unused credits do not roll over, and if you pass 20,000 credits mid-month agents stop until you turn on pay as you go.
TobyBot counts actions, triggers and AI credits for a workspace, so the units differ and we do not rank the two on price. For a heavy month, add up both from your own usage.
Full plan details are on the TobyBot pricing page.
How TobyBot and Gumloop compare, question by question
| Gumloop | TobyBot | |
|---|---|---|

| How a task starts | A chat, an email to the agent, a Slack or Teams message, a schedule, an app event or a webhook. | A request you type, a schedule, a webhook or a new Gmail message. |
| What you see while it runs | Each task is its own conversation with a history and a credit cost, plus performance insights and evaluations for the agent. | The plan as one card for each step. Every tool call and result shows as it runs, and you can pause. |
| Tools and connectors | Connectors, MCP, skills, a code sandbox and a browser for the agent. | Native Google, Microsoft, Meta and LinkedIn connectors, Telegram as a channel, and any other system through an MCP server. |

TobyBot and Gumloop: frequently asked questions
Is TobyBot or Gumloop better for a growth or operations team?
Both work for people who are not engineers. Gumloop suits teams that like to configure agents, tune their instructions over time and reach them in Slack or email. TobyBot suits teams that would rather set the goal, read the plan and watch each call. Try one real job in both.
How much does Gumloop cost?
As of November 2026 its pricing page shows Pro from $37 a month with 20,000 credits and unlimited seats, a 14-day trial, and Enterprise on custom pricing. TobyBot costs $59 a month for Pro and $299 a month for Team.
How does Gumloop count credits compared with TobyBot?
Gumloop bills each run at the list cost of model tokens, compute and paid tool calls, plus a fee, in credits worth $0.005 each. TobyBot plans set a number of users, actions and triggers, and AI credits for the month. The limits for each plan are on the pricing page.
Is TobyBot one of the Gumloop alternatives for people who do not want a canvas?
Gumloop's documentation now centres on agents, and its pricing table marks Workflows as Legacy. So the choice is less about a canvas and more about how much you set up before the first run.
Can I bring my own model key?
Yes on both. Every TobyBot plan lets you bring your own LLM key. On Gumloop, its FAQ says your own key lowers credit use but raises the orchestration fee from eight to sixteen per cent.
Can TobyBot agents work where my team chats?
Gumloop lists Slack, Microsoft Teams, email and text message. TobyBot has a Microsoft Teams connector and Telegram as a channel, and agents can be built into your own product through the API, a chat widget and the SDK.
